L’INSTITUT DE LA VISION

The Institut de la Vision is an international research centre dedicated entirely to research into vision diseases. Its innovative organisation, which brings together researchers, doctors and industrialists around patients from the 15-20 national hospital, enables new therapeutic or technological solutions to be discovered, tested and developed in order to prevent eye diseases or limit their effects. It enables the sharing of ideas, the emergence of new questions and the acceleration of the transfer of research results to patient care.

All the Institut de la Vision’s activities and projects are coordinated by the Fondation Voir & Entendre, in conjunction with its three supervisory institutions: Sorbonne University, Inserm and the CNRS.

L’HÔPITAL NATIONAL DES 15-20

A national public health establishment specialising in ophthalmology, the Hôpital national des 15-20 carries out the tasks of a university hospital: care, teaching, research and prevention.

As a hospital dedicated to ophthalmology, 15-20 has become the national and international benchmark for the treatment of vision disorders. The organisation of the 15-20 is entirely focused on the treatment of eye diseases and surgical operations: cataract, age-related macular degeneration, retina, glaucoma, corneal transplant, retina, myopia, strabismus, lacrimal tract, eyelids, uveitis, tumours.

The care on offer is built around three specialised centres for glaucoma, cornea (including refractive surgery and keratoconus) and retina, which complement the ophthalmology consultation centre. In addition to dealing with ophthalmological emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the centre offers treatment for the majority of ophthalmological pathologies, whether medical, surgical or neuro-ophthalmological. An internal medicine department completes this range of services.
